NEW Dior beauty Must-Haves for Fall 2014

Dior Carré Bleu & Carré d’Or, the beautiful deep blue nail polish and elegant nude lipstick from the Fall 2014 Dior Make-Up Collection. $26-$37

Dior Hydra-Life Close-Up, Pore Reducing Pro Youth moisturizer, $80. This fresh and luxurious moisturizer smoothes and evens skin to perfection, reduces the appearance of pores, deeply hydrates and provide a matte radiance that makes skin appear flawless, up-close. Thanks to this breakthrough Dior formula, containing a trio of Hydra Life active ingredients: black rose, jisten, and centella, to which Dior skincare experts have added an innovative ingredient, flax flower extracts, Hydra Life Close-Up reduces the appearance of pores both instantly and over time. Upon application, I am amazed at the effects on my skin. It is beyond smooth and incredibly soft, and has the kind of enviable matte radiance that allows models to look perfect on photos without any make-up. I love Hydra-Life Close-Up and will be using it daily to benefit from its long-term effects on my skin. It’s the ideal moisturizing treatment for women who don’t want to wear foundation or primers. Instantly and overtime, Dior Hydra-Life Close-Up Pro Youth tightens skin and perfects its tone and texture.

And last but not least, the dark and luxurious, limited edition Dior Nail Artistry Box: all the essentials for a graphic and arty manicure in a single box set, including Swarovski Elements® crystal rhinestones for sparkling and sophisticated nail art. Star and shamrock transfers decorate nails with the mark of a “lucky charm”, homage to Christian Dior’s superstitious side. A metallic lacquer can be applied as a backdrop or layered with the Dior transfer patterns. The Gel Coat provides spectacular shape and shine as the finishing touch to these couture looks.

Available now at Holt Renfrew, The Bay and Dior counters worldwide.

NEW Fall 2014 Dyptique Candle Collection at Maison Ogilvy, Montreal.
Fans of the French perfume house and maker of the fashion world’s favorite scented candles can now discover Dyptique’s colored indoor and outdoor candle collection at Ogilvy.
Handmade and infused with natural aromas, these large candles, dressed up in earthy autumnal colors, soothe the senses with their addictive, natural scents. Dressed up in deep, earthy, autumnal colors, these new candles from the Dyptique fall collection offer a great way to create a welcoming, cozy atmosphere throughout the ber months.
Presented in rustic chic porcelain or colored glass containers, this season’s Dyptique candles offer a warm and sophisticated accord of autumnal scents, ranging from fruity and sweet, to woody and spicy. I love the decorative touch that these candles bring, and although their price is steep – $90 for the glass candles and $290 for the large porcelain ones – Dyptique’s delicate scents are well worth splurging on.
My favorite from the Fall 2014 collection? Figuier Verte: a delicate scent that recalls the warmth of fig wood, the freshness of its leaves and the sweetness of its milky sap.
Don’t wait until the Fall season officially starts — these limited edition Dyptique candles fly off the shelves fast.

NEW CHANEL Make-Up Fall/Winter 2014 collection Les États Poétiques

A day that begins with Chanel is always full of promise. This morning, I decided to go for a full Chanel beauty look from head to toe, for my day out and about.

This Fall/Winter 2014 Chanel make-up collection, appropriately named Les États Poétiques, not only dresses the eyes, lips and fingertips with a beautiful palette of subtle yet expressive colors, it inspires a state of mind as well. From the iconic black and white Chanel cases holding the precious, highly pigmented eyeshadows, lipsticks and vernis, to the perfectly formulated illuminating base and light as air powder foundation, Les États Poétiques lets you experience Parisian chic at its finest, wherever you are.

For a simple daytime look, I started by smoothing a few drops of Le Blanc de Chanel Base Lumière Universelle on my face. This amazing multi-use universal primer is the perfect base to ensure a smooth, dewy complexion and help make-up stay in place all day.

To even out my skintone and mattify the forehead, nose and chin for the day, I used a very little amount of the VitaLumière powder foundation, applied with the infinitely soft mini kabuki Chanel brush. These first steps took less than a minute.

The next step was subtly definining the eyes with Les 4 Ombres eyeshadows in Poésie 234. I used all four shades: the lightest pearly beige at the inner corner for a touch of light, the champagne beige on the mobile lid, the slightly darker golden hue along the crease, and finally, the rich dark brown at the outer corner or the eyes and along the lower lash line. This creates depth and makes eyes appear much bigger, all the while keeping the effect natural. I don’t highlight the area under the brow for daytime, because I think it looks a little too done. The key to a beautiful make-up look is to play up your features without overpowering them.

Next up was a sweep of Joues Contrastes in 170 Rose Glacier, to create a healthy flush. I love the texture and luminous effect of this powder blush, it looks incredibly natural and seems to revive the complexion.

I continued my daytime Chanel États Poétiques look with the ultra moisturizing Lèvres Scintillantes lip gloss in 189 Rose Rêvé. Fear not, there is no visible shimmer in this perfect nude shade. The effect is more satin-like sheen and perfectly suitable for a simple morning look.

No mascara, no eyeliner and no eyebrow pencil for the time being. I like to add to my make-up as the day goes by, and these additions are a perfect way to go from a simple barely there make-up to a stronger, sophisticated evening look.

As for the Chanel vernis, I quickly applied a coat of the pearlescent rosy beige shade, Secret 625, on hand and toe nails for a polished look.

I definitely recommend treating yourself to these products from the Chanel Fall 2014 Les États Poétiques collection. The light shades create a very soft and feminine look, and the darker shades let you pull off a chic, dramatic look that’s ideal for a dinner out.

The Chanel États Poétiques collection is available now at Chanel counters worldwide.
